I’m glad to announce the 0.3.0 release of cairo-compmgr.
Cairo Composite Manager is a versatile and extensible composite manager which use cairo for rendering. Plugins can be used to add some cool effects to your desktop.
Changes last pre-release :
- Drop glitz and openvg backends, we wait for new opengl cairo backend to add 3D support in CCM
- Use more classical dialog box for configuration and snapshot
- Vala is now required to build cairo-compmgr
- Add a mosaic (« exposé ») plugin that you can activate with <Super>Tab keys
- Add experimental clone plugin which provide the capability to an external application to get the content of any showed window.
- Add the capability to launch the configuration in command line with cairo-compmgr –configure command.
- Fix many bugs and performance issues.

Cool! many bugs fixed
mosaic still has a little problem when you chose a window not at the top, and it cannot get chromium or audacious2 ’s window
Excellent! Can’t wait to give it a try.
Great release. Mosaic plugin is great, I have been waiting for something like this for a long time =)
Ok – I must be missing something here. For some reason, whenever I enable this, my windows close on their own. I’ll open a new one, and a few seconds later it’ll just disappear.
Is this a problem with my build, or is this something about the config that I don’t understand?
Woa! Great compmgr! It will replace xcompmgr in my little ob-user’s heart =D
Only one question: it really require lignomeui as dephs? WTF!

Fantastic! I stopped using ccm because of bugs. I’ve been using the new version for over a week on my openbox desktop and it’s great so far.
Thanks for updating this application!
Hi,
I was long waiting for new release, that would fix problems with older versions. Great job.
I wan’t also to inform You, that there seems to be problems with rendering java-based application windows. I’m using some of those, and I have to disable compositiong in order to work normally.
Ubuntu Openbox support please. When will cairo be available via the repos?
Any way to disable the systray icon? It’s just taking up space, and I don’t really use it often at all…
This is awesome. Just what I’ve been looking for to replace xcompmgr. Works really well with xmonad.
Many thanks!
Hi! good work!
tray icon is so….
can i disable it?
Also, do you mind adding a GPG key to the repo so that Debian-derived distro users don’t get an error everytime they update?
Thanks.
